Hi everyone,

Welcome to the first newsletter of the year. I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, New Year and holiday.

Whatever your break was like I hope you are feeling well and refreshed and ready for the Flat Four year ahead. Well there is a bit of news in the offering so here goes.

First of all, it's huge congratulations to Shane and Carmen Hobson who got married on the 7th January this year. It was a beautiful day and I believe the wedding ceremony and reception were a huge success. Carmen looked absolutely gorgeous and Shane very dapper as they said their vows. The hit of the whole affair was the photo booth which everyone partook of and there are some hilarious photos to have a peek (at 

http://photoboothinfo.blogspot.com.au/2012/01/carmen-shanes-wedding.html). If a picture's worth a thousand words then Dave and Murray's foray into the booth reveals an awful lot!!

On a much sadder note, Dawn Hucktepp's Dad lost his battle with cancer recently but Dawn looks to be winning hers. I have seen several pics of her and Peter on Facebook and she looks terrific. I hope when she feels up to it, they will come and visit us at a Club meeting or attend a Club run. It would be so nice to catch up. Still on the Huckstepps, Dawn revealed on Facebook that Mitchell plays a small part in Leonardo Di Caprio's movie "The Great Gatsby"!! He plays a pianist so let's hope that his scene doesn't end up on the cutting room floor. It would be such a thrill to see a family member/friend on the big screen wouldn't it??

We had our Club meeting on Sunday the 4th February and my goodness there were some very fine and fit people there!! Amy (heavily pregnant) looked really well and even though she only has three weeks to go and is totally "over it" she was glowing! She's gone darker and it really suits her. Scott, who has been mountain bike riding a lot lately has lost five and a half kilos in five weeks. He's hoping to enter a riding marathon in March and he's trimmed down so much that he was actually wearing Di's Club shirt!! The biggest change in someone though is Pod who since he was diagnosed with diabetes has lost twenty kilos and all of his hair!!

I can't believe it but young Amy France started high school this year! I'm sure she will settle in really well and if you or yours have kids starting school or high school I hope they all settle in and enjoy what they won't believe is the best years of their lives. Another Amy (Silvestri) is on the other side of the world at the moment travelling around Europe. I have been following her on Facebook too and she and her boyfriend Matt have been to some fabulous places. They were lucky enough to watch the first snowfall of the season in England and see the Colosseum at night. Meanwhile, her Mum and Dad, Dave and Leanne have gone off on a two week trip to Cooma and the snowfields and the south coast in "Bunty" who's dragging "Ted" along for the ride!!

Some of you may not believe this but "Slim" has finally gone too far and is now up for sale!! He's done another motor so hence he cannot be registered at the moment and Steve has decided that the old boy has to go!! So if you know of anyone who may be interested please let us know and we'll go from there.

Last but not least, Valla is on again this year on the first weekend in August and the Club has booked four cabins only. If you are interested in going, please let Murray know as soon as possible as these go very quickly. Camping is also available but at this stage I don't have any details regarding this. Finally, if you didn't know already, Club membership is due at the end of the financial year. Also at this time elections will be held for all Committee positions. Please consider carefully if you would like to become a Committee member and nominate yourself before the AGM.

Please see upcoming events for February and March and hopefully we will have a really good turn out to the Club events. Well I guess that's it for now.
