President's Report - November 2011

Hi guys. I know! I missed the last month’s report! Sometimes the days just fly past and before you know it the month is gone.

room10sSince my last report we have been to The German Autofest in Canberra. Dave and Leanne, Bill and Rachel who were enjoying a child free weekend, Scott and Ethan who were having a boy's weekend, and Vicki and myself and Adam and Lauren from Mountain Mechanics, enjoyed a beautiful sunny Sunday. There was a good turn up and a nice display of cars of various makes and models and in various conditions. The “Car of the Day” was certainly the car of the day without any hesitation or doubt. The gold and burgundy chop top Beetle is an absolute work of art and a credit to its owner Wassim. If you didn’t make the Canberra show, grab the latest issue of VWMA as it is the main feature, you might also find a couple of familiar Club vehicles hidden within the pages!

Old Bar was next. I am sure you have heard all the stories so I won’t repeat them over again. What I don’t understand is how the weather can get progressively worse every year for 5 years. Surely next year it will be dry? Hopefully! Yes I have booked again. I will give it one more go, no-one ever said I was a quitter.

Aside from Club runs, Lilly, my granddaughter, turned 1. Where the heck did that year go? We had a celebration of grand proportions, Corrin wouldn’t have it any other way, and Rochelle, my younger daughter, has just finished her third and final year at uni….yeah you know what I’m thinking, how many years? Already?

Don’t forget, the drags on Sunday 20th November, meet Prestons Maccas @ 9.00am and also Boris’ Picnic Day on Sunday 27th November, meet Casula Maccas @ 9.00am.

Next month is Christmas, Again? Last year we had the December meeting at my place and I thought it was a nice way to finish off the year. Hold the meeting and have a bit of a social get together. So we are doing it again this year. Sunday 4th December around 6.00pm, give me a call so I can get some snags and rolls. Sunday 11th December is our annual Christmas picnic. Please let Dave, Leanne or myself know if you are coming. It is really difficult to cater, especially for the little ones, if we don’t know you're coming. It’s once a year and we try to make it special for all concerned. So again, please, let us know before the day.

That’s about it!

Until next time……keep on cruising……Murray
