2004 marked the 20th anniversary of the Volkswagen Spectacular held at Valla Park, approximately 612kms north of Sydney and a stones throw from Nambucca Heads.

This is a full weekend event. The Club left Sydney on the Friday at an ungodly hour at which time only truckies and all night clubbers are usually seen loitering around McDonalds for breakfast. We settled in at Valla Park on the Friday afternoon and kicked back to ease into the weekend ahead.

On the Saturday a huge VW convoy heads from Valla Park to the main street of Nambucca where all the VWs are parked for a couple of hours viewing pleasure. On the Saturday night there is a charity auction and fancy dress night (the Club opting for an '80s look).

Sunday is Show 'N' Shine day with more visual candy for the VW enthusiests and time to spend some hard earnt money at the swap meets and trader stalls. It's all over too quickly with Monday morning coming around before you know it and time to cruise back to Sydney.

Congratulations to the following Flat Four members who won trophies on the weekend:

Peter Huckstepp - Car of the Day, Best Type 1 - '68 On Modified, Best Engine Custom All Cars

Jeff Baker - Best Type 1 - to '57 (Splits and Ovals) Modified

Dave Silvestri - Best Type 1 - to '57 (Splits and Ovals) Restored To Standard

Murray Fleming - Best Type 2 - includes T3/T4 '78 On
